All JOURNAL ENTRIES will need to be sent via e-mail to sridal@somersetacademy.com.

Journal entries are to be sent via e-mail at the end of each week on Sunday by 11:59 p.m.

Evaluations must also be sent via e-mail by your teacher. I will not penalize you if these are turned in late.

I am eliminating the Creative Leadership Collage project.

Find at least 15 service projects and describe them in detail. See the Teacher Assistant Class Projects file below for the rubric.

The project must be typed and sent via e-mail by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 6. If turned in late, the project will receive a grade no higher than 80 percent.

Seniors must finish the essay exam and send it via e-mail by May 18 at 11:59 p.m.

The remaining students will write the essay exam and send it via e-mail by May 31 at 11:59 p.m. Topics will be given to you as the date approaches.

Students, make sure that you stay with your teacher unless on errands. When running errands, make sure you are wearing your white pass. If you are missing your pass, please go to Ms. Fye’s office for a teacher assisting pass. Also, you should NOT be going to the media center if you don’t have any work to do for your teacher. At this point, if you are missing your pass or are found in the media center, hallways, front office, cafeteria, or any location where you are not supposed to be, you will receive a zero for the week’s journal and a zero for the week’s teacher evaluation.

Regarding your journal entries, they should be at least two paragraphs and paint a vivid image for me of what you did. I should also be able to tell who your teacher is and what grade level the students are. If you don’t reflect on and describe the skills you learned, you won’t receive full credit. Thanks for all you are doing to assist our teachers.

If your teacher has not submitted the evaluation for the week, it is your responsibility to make sure they fill out the form via e-mail.

We are still looking for great photographers and need pictures from homecoming week. Please see Ms. Ridal with your memory stick if you would like to contribute pictures.

Also parents, I checked with treasurer Mr. Rodriguez, and he said that you CAN donate your volunteer hour money to the school newspaper. If you are paying online or are paying in the front office, just specify that you want to donate the funds to the school newspaper. We will be using the money to publish a print version, and any leftover funds will be used to purchase much-need cameras and equipment.

If you know anyone who would like to sponsor the paper or to advertise, please send me an e-mail. Thank you all for your support!

Hello parents,

Here is the information you requested for accessing Pinnacle as sent to teachers from Ms. Bermudez:

Parents can access their child’s grades by following these steps:

1. Go to https://gradebook.browardschools.com/PIV

2. The user name is the student’s ID (This is not the student’s social security number.) Please check your child’s schedule to find out the correct Student ID number.

3. The Pin Code is the child’s date of birth – this will be typed as year, month, and day (four digits for year, two digits for month, and two digits for day) – no spaces, slashes, dashes, or commas) – for example, if the student’s birthday is February 5, 1992, it would be typed in as 19920205.

4. Choose the correct school from the School drop down menu: Somerset Academy Middle, Somerset Academy High, or Somerset Academy Arts Conservatory.
